Paros is one of the most popular Greek islands during high season, (mid July to late August), but can be considered very relaxing even during the busy times. It now has all the services of a modern, cosmopolitan city, (good transport, free wi-fi, fantastic restaurants, bars, nightclubs and spas) while having a village feel that allows visitors to totally unwind and relax the moment they arrive.
Paros was originally known for its fine marble – white, soft and translucent, it is held in high regard by sculpters and has provided the raw material for some of the most famous sculptures in the world. The Venus de Milo was created from Parian marble around 100BC and has courted controversy throughout it’s history.
Located in the heart of the Cyclades, in the Aegean sea, Paros is beside Naxos and near Mykonos and enjoys fantastic weather from May until October. Parikia is the main port and is a perfect gateway for exploring other islands around Greece due to the regular ferries and catamarans.
