The beauty of traditional Parian villages is in harmony with exquisite sandy beaches and whitewashed cubic houses. It is possible to enjoy hours wandering through the maze of narrow alleys, admiring the white buildings, blue shutters and flowered balconies and even buying fruit and vegetables from the farmers on their donkeys.

As well as the simple pleasures of relaxing, eating and drinking whilst on holiday, there are many interesting sides to Paros. We have found that the following museums are worth a visit:

  • Archaelogical museum of Paros – this museum holds a large collection of artefacts from the Neolithic and bronze ages, and findings from Classical and Neolithic periods.
  • Byzantine museum – located in Parikia and Naoussa
  • Folklore Art museum of Lefkes
  • Marpissa Sculpture Museum
  • Wine museum and working vineyard – Naoussa
  • All the organized beaches of Paros offer many waters sports facilities and competitions. The Windsurfing World Cup takes place every year on Golden Beach and the Kiteboarding World Championships is held on Pounta beach, directly next to the port for visiting Antiparos, (approx €1 ferry corssing!). Apart from summer sports, on Paros you will have the chance to experience other hobbies, such as walking, mountain biking, snorkelling, scuba diving, sculpting, painting and yoga to name but a few.
